My name is Nino van der Stoop, 27 years old and I live in Haarlem, The Netherlands.

I’ve been passionate about music since I was a little kid, joining high school plays, making a lot of friends and having a lot of fun. At the age of 16 I had singing lessons for many years. At 18 years old I formed a classic rock band, and wrote an original rock opera with my great friend and teacher called: Made in Heaven. This piece was written for our mutual friend Wessel who passed away. If you wonder what we sounded like you can listen to the audio below.

After this wonderful project I started making music with my best friend Boris and we started our YouTube channel. We perform great folk and country songs with lots of harmony vocals and joy. We also have a couple of original tracks.

It’s Boris who taught me a lot about music theory and rhythm. Because of my physical disability I can’t practice an instrument except for my voice. So, I never thought I would write songs alone, even though I loved doing it. But as you know, technology has come a long way, so I was astounded at all the possibilities that lay in front of me. Slowly but surely, I taught myself how to write, arrange and perform songs myself. You have great instrument plug-ins as though you have session musicians.

This gave me a whole new creative avenue to venture. So, I started my own YouTube channel and thought it would be cool if I create a website where you can have a look and listen to my own songs and with Boris. I also love (writing) poetry and writing about music, movies and art. So there will be lots of that here too.
